Who We Are and What We Do
Who We Are
As daughters of the King, we seek to honor G-D and encourage one another in our walk to be a holy people submitting to one another in love. We look to our matriarchs Sarah, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel as models for g-dly character and behavior and most of all to Mashiach Yeshua who is the Living Torah and example to us all. Beit Chesed welcomes Jewish and non-Jewish women to be a part of our community and we nourish each other starting where each person is in their religious observance. We pray together, laugh together, cry together, and grow together. We are one big mishpacha, family, with common ground in Torah and Messiah Yeshua. We believe the Scriptures teach us to walk in modesty and purity and the beauty of a woman of valor comes from within.
Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears Adonai will be praised.
Titus 2:3-5
3 Likewise, older women are to be sanctified in demeanor—not backbiting or enslaved to much wine. Let them be teachers of what is good, 4 so that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, managing their household, kind, submitted to their own husbands, so that God’s word may not be dishonored.
What We Do
Achayot Beit Chesed meets online virtually weekly on Tuesday evenings to pray for each other and encourage one another. We pray for our congregation, our country, and for Israel. This time of gathering is convenient from our homes online. So, no matter the distance of miles between us, we can feel connected midweek and make sure we can pray for the needs of our sisters and the world around us. During this time, we sometimes schedule specific studies, plan activities, or have devotionals. These meetings are facilitated by Rebbetzin and are by invitation upon request.
We have done a variety of activities and studies. Some of our larger activities this year involved crafting and sewing as well as supporting humanitarian aid in Ukraine and Israel. As we are small, we have joined forces with other organizations who are the hands and feet on the ground in these countries. We also seek to promote unity within our local community by coming together for events in the wider Jewish community, as one people. Am Yisrael Chai!
